I am a Doctoral Candidate in the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network "ARCTECH – Harnessing the Potential of Archaea: Training Europe’s Next Visionaries for an Innovative and Sustainable Future" (Horizon MSCA 101120407). This pioneering European research training program is dedicated to advancing archaeal research and its biotechnological applications, with a strong focus on sustainable innovation.
As a PhD student in Natural Sciences at the University of Duisburg-Essen, I am conducting my research in the Department of Chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Bettina Siebers. In collaboration with Microbify GmbH, where I work under the guidance of Linda Dengler, my research centers on developing biofilm formation assays for anaerobic bacteria and archaea. This work emphasizes microbial interactions and their applications in environmental biotechnology, with potential impacts in green energy production, biocorrosion prevention, enzyme production, and sustainable biomaterials.
