Hi, I’m Anupkumar Rai, but feel free to call me Anup! 

I’m a PhD student in Dr. Divya Prakash’s lab at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, where we explore the molecular secrets of methanogens—ancient microbes that thrive without oxygen. 

My research focuses on electron transport processes that help these microbes maintain redox balance and manage oxidative stress, revealing insights into their role in the global carbon cycle and potential alternative energy solutions.
